Dr. Boots first became interested in eye care after suffering a retinal detachment from an injury in gym class during junior year in High School. After a summer internship at a local optical he decided to obtain training as a certified optician. He continued to work as an optician throughout undergraduate and graduate schooling. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Visual Science in 1991 and a Doctorate of Optometry Suma Cum Laude at the Illinois College of Optometry in 1993. His personality is best described as 'compassionate', 'caring', and 'crazy'. He enjoys architecture, interior decorating, piano and spending what little free time he has with his wife and 3 children.
